How To Create A Life Audit: Reflect, Assess, and Design Your Best Year Yet

Episode #26: 2023 Life Audit

Read or Listen!

Hey there, it's Ellie Curry! As we approach the end of the year, it's the perfect time for reflection and setting intentions for the upcoming year. Personally, I love this time of year because it allows me to take stock of what I've achieved and create a vision for the future. In this blog post, I want to share with you how to create your own life audit, so you can set yourself up for success and finish off this year on a positive note.

Reflecting On Your Goals

Let's start by looking back at the goals you set for yourself last year. Remember, we all start the year with excitement and a sense of a fresh start. But sometimes, we get caught up in waiting for the "perfect" moment instead of taking action. So, be kind to yourself as you reflect on what you set out to achieve last year.

Take a moment to list out the goals you set for yourself and then make a separate list of the things you actually accomplished. Celebrate each achievement, no matter how big or small. Even if you didn't accomplish everything on your list, acknowledge the progress you made. In fact, I encourage you to make it a practice to write down at least one accomplishment every single day this year.

Assessing Your Satisfaction Levels

Now, it's time to assess your satisfaction levels in different areas of your life. Consider categories such as health, home environment, spirituality, family, romance, social life, money, career, personal growth, style, body image, confidence, feelings, and purpose/passion. On a scale of 1 to 10, rate your satisfaction in each category and jot down a sentence about how you currently feel about it.

This exercise will help you identify the areas of your life that need your attention and those that bring you joy. Take note of what you feel needs to be fixed or changed, as well as the areas you're excited about. The higher the number, the more enthusiastic you are about that aspect of your life. These areas will serve as your roadmap for deciding what to focus on in this new year.

Designing Your Year

Now that you have a clearer understanding of where you are and what you want to improve or celebrate, it's time to design your year. Maybe you've noticed that self-care is lacking, and you're committed to making it a priority. Or perhaps your career is calling for a creative breakthrough, and you're ready to dive in wholeheartedly.

There are countless possibilities, and it's up to you to decide what direction you want your life to take this year. This quick life audit serves as a cheat sheet to help you think about where you are now and where you want to be. Use it as a guide to set goals and intentions for the upcoming year.

Remember, this is your life audit, and it's all about creating a lifestyle you love. So, take the time to reflect, assess, and design your best year yet. Embrace intentional living and make this year a year of growth, joy, and fulfillment. I'm excited for what lies ahead, and I hope you are too.

XO,

Ellie Curry
